The Primo Viaggio Convertible Kinetic is designed to accommodate a child from infancy to toddlerhood, smoothly transitioning from a rear-facing to a forward-facing car seat. This versatile seat provides maximum safety alongside height-adjustable Side Impact Protection (SIP), which can be adjusted to ten different height positions, even while the child is seated. Among the added safety features of the Convertible are Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) energy-absorbing foam, an Anti-rebound Bar, and Kinetic Pods, which help redirect forces away from the child in the event of a side collision. The Kinetic allows for rear-facing use up to 45 pounds as long as the child's head remains at least one inch below the headrest edge, adhering to the American Academy of Pediatrics' guidelines that recommend keeping children rear-facing until they are at least two years old, or reach the maximum height or weight limit for their seat.

For forward-facing use, the seat can accommodate children weighing between 22 to 65 pounds. The top tether hook enhances stability when the seat is in this mode and limits any forward movement, contributing further to safety. Additionally, the Viaggio HBB 120, Viaggio Flex 120, and Viaggio Shuttle Plus can accommodate children from 40 to 120 pounds while facing forward.

Constructed with a "cobblestone" webbing made of extra-strong polyester thread, the Convertible is built to endure. The energy-absorbing EPS foam in the shell and EPP in the head panel work together to protect the child's body from impact forces effectively. Meanwhile, the integrated and stowable Anti-Rebound Bar minimizes rotational forces and enhances safety in case of front or rear collisions. The ARB spacer even allows for extended rear-facing use by providing an additional two inches of legroom for growing children.
